GENERAL STRIKE THREATENED. [Pees"" Association. — Copyright] PARIS, Monday. A roposal by M. Clemenceau (premier), to legalise Civil Servants' Associations, but denying them the right to strike, led to a great protest meeting in Pari6, many postal and other State servants fraternising with the- revolutionary Confederation of Labour. Many, subversive speeches were delivered, and a secret mixed committee of twelve, representing civil servant* and the ordinary trade unionists, was formed, to organise-.^. general strike, with a view to compelling Parliament to yield to extreme demands.
