TIDAL WAVE AT THE ISLANDS.
CONSIDERABLE DAIIACt done. (Pbiii Association. — CopraoEx.) ' [ WELLINGTON, Tuesday. News by the Manapouri from the Islands states that on the night of 7th March three heavy seas broke over the south side of the island of Raratonga. -They rolled in over Iho reef and covered the low-lying land to a depth of 10 feel, washing away four wooden bridges and smashing a concrete bridge. A large number of cocoanut trees ware brought down ard Hocked the road. The inundation made tbe carriage, of fruit very difikult. On the same night tie south en J of Tahiti was washed by tidal waves, and a schooner from the Paufotu grocp reports a similar occun-'ii :e there.
