THE EASTER HOLIDAY.
POST AND TELEGRAPH ARRANGEMENTS. The Postal authorities notify the following offio2 arrangements during the Easter Holidays : — POSTAL BRANCH. GOOD FRIDAY, 9th April, will be observed as a close Post Office Holiday. All mails usually "despatched on Friday will be closed at 7 p.m. on Thursday preceding. Receiving Boxes throughout the City, including the Port district, will be cleared at 5.30 p.m. on Thursday, but not on Fiiday. There will be no delivery by Letter Carriers on Friday, but an over-counter delivery of letters will be made at the Post Office on Thursday between 7 and 8 p.m. SATURDAY, 10th April.— Two deliveries will be made by letter carriers. In addition lb the usual" clearance* all Receiving boxes in the City and The Port district will be cleared at 5.30 p.m. All classes of correspondence will be delivered over the counter at the Post Office between 7 and 8 p.m. EASTER MONDAY, 12th April.— Mails usually despatched on Monday after 8 a.m. will be closed at that hour. The receiving boxes throughout the City and the Port District will be cleared only onoe at 5.30 a.m. The Post Office will be open between 9 and 10 a.m. only, for delivery of correspondence (including letters usually delivered by carriers), slae of stamps, registration, etc., but not for Money Order and Savings Bank business. There will be no delivery by letter carriers. Mail coaches will run* as usual on Good Friday and Easter Monday. The s.s. Manuka leaves Wellington for Sydney on Thursday, Bth April, in lieu of Friday. The last mail from Nelson to connect with her will be on Wednesday the 7th, closing at 8.30 a.m. TELEGRAPH OFFICE. The Telegraph Office will be open as follows : — GOOD FRlDAY.— Upstairs ,on!y, Halifax-street Entranc, 9.30 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 5.30 p.m. EASTER MONDAY.— UsuaI Public Counter, 9to 10 a.m. Upstaiis, Hali-fax-street Entrance 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight. TELEPHON EEXCHANGE. The Exchange will be open on Good Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. only, but on Easter Monday from 8 a.m. to midnight as usual. E. V. SfiNN, Chief Postmaster. Nelson, 2nd April, 1909.
