The State Government Paleontologist has returned from tho Margaret river bringing 2000 spociiuens of fossils of the pleistocenes ago, mostly In a fragmentary state, but including many perfect or nearly perfect bones and teeth. A cursory examination reveals the presence of remains of a diprodoton (mammoth kangaroo), an extinct species of mncropus (kangaroo), and a phaseolomys (wombat), the two last genera being new record* for 'Wpstralia.
