SWIMMING.
GIRLS' COLLEGE SPORTS.
The Girls' College annual swimming sports were held in the Marine Baths on Saturday. The weather was perfect, and there was a record attendance of visitors. There were moro entries for the races than ever before, and everything passed oft most successfully. The girls of Form VI. had charge of the atteruoou tea. As usual, the fancy dress race caused much amusement. The competitors were: J. Munro, who appeared as "The Mad Hatter; E. Gunning, ns "Tupsy"; Z. Bi;Joy, n Maori woman; and I?. Hamilton, "Topsy." Tho prize for the best dress was awarded to il. Mnnro, who** clever acting of hor part was much appreciated by those present. The champion proved to be D. Everett. Messrs CresiTvell, Rich- j mond, Rogers, and Squires acted as ' judge." The prizes wero presented by Mrs Mules and at the close of the afternoon the girls cheered Mrs Mules, the judges, tho prize-givers, and the champion. The following are the results of the events: — 13 and H years Mr Everett's prize); E. Dodson. Lifo saving (Mrs Bamford 's prize): K. Brown. Beginners (Mrs Rogers' prize): A. Clougher. Fancy Dress, best dress (Mrs Cock 's prize) : G. Munro. Winnor of race (Miss McEachon 's prize) : R. Hamilton. One length on back, championship (Mrs Harley's prize): D. Everett. Bottle race, one width (Mis" Chisholm 's prize) : D. Everett. Under 12: H. Bamford. Three lengths, champiouship (Mr? Mules' prize): D. Everett. Old Girls' race: L. Drummond. 15 and over (Mrs Allan's prize): D. Everett. Pick-a-back: D. Everett and P. Bamford. Egg and Spoon (Mrs rresiwellV prize) : D. Everett. Final lient of handicap (Mr Si'iiiirei' prize--.): M. Grace and M. de f 'astro, Feet forward, one wdth: A. Fell. Neat header, championship (Mr Deck's prize): r>. Everett. Consolation Race: J. Trott. Championship: D. Everett 1 (medal); A. Fell 2 (Mr Richmond's prize).
