DAMAGE TO GAEDEN CEOPS. [United P&iss Assooation.l HASTINGS, Thursday. Three degrees of frost were registered last night. The cold damaged the grapes and cut down potatoes and tender plants. Peach and other fruits were undamaged. MASTEETON, Thursday, xiiere iinTe toeen lieaYy frosts eacn night this week— a circumstance almost unprecedented for the end of October. Garden crops are seriously affected, and the Chinese gardeners have sustained severe losses. Large areas of potatoes and beans will require ploughing up and replanting.
