CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
A VISIT TO KIWI. A meeting of the Railway and Land Traffic Committee of the Chamber of Commerce was held last evening, Mr A. H. Bisley, President, occupying the chair. . . The matter of the proposed visit to Kiwi was discussed, and it was decided that the excursion by members of the Chamber be made on Saturday, 10th October, tJio President and tha Secretary boing deputed to make the necessary arrangements with the manager of the railway. The President stated that he had received word from the secretary to the Murchison committee that the members from that district would be glad to join the excursion. It was resolved to communicate with the Murchison committeel sugg'esting that its members should join the train at Kohatu. The hope was expressed that the members of all the country committees would join in the excursion. It was decided that members be notified by advertisement of the arrangements when made, when those who intend to make the journey should notify the secretary so that sufficient carriage accommodation might be reserved. The matter of obtaining more recognition by th? Tourist Department of thi< Nelson district iger^erally and, at the present time, more particularly of the Lake Rotoiti and Tophouse districts, was discussed, and a report to the Council of the Chamber will be made. It was also decided to endorse a movement urging a sufficient grant for the completion of the Rinya river Big Bush (Motupiko Valley) road.
