At thc ladies' hockcv tournament today- at Dav's Bav, Hawkes Bay beat Nelson bv 1 goal to nil, and so have cone right through tho tournament without a loss. They having defeated everv other senior team, the senior championship will go to them. Iheir ni.-.i'-h with the Nelson toam, however, tionilv spoilt their recoid, for it was noj. won until ri.ght on the call o* tim* it being the beat and keenest fixture of the whole series. Wairarapa A beat Wellington B by 6 to nil. WeilinL'ton A and Wairarapa B earh had a bve. Tho iunior championship has been won bv "Wellington. The tournament will close to-morrow. (From Our Special Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Hawkes Bav, who aro now the winners of the tournament, beat Nelson by 1 goal to nil. The first advantage fell to Hawkes Bay, who carried the ball up the field but the excellent defence of Nelson saved the eitualion. Play was then verv fast, and at the end of the first spell neither side had scored For the first ten minutes in tho later half Nelson kept the ball in their opponent s territory, but Hawkes Bay instituted a passina rush and averted the danger Thev then assumed the aggressive ; but Nelson returned the attack, and had a shot at goal, but unfortunately the oaiJ missed the posts. After splendid passing bv Hawkes Bay players they manaacd to score. A moment later NeUon rushed no the field, but again missed scoring through over-anxiety. Time then sounded. — . »- I- T
