A MURDER IN THE BUSH.
AN ARREST IN VICTORIA. GRUESOME TALE OF A QUARREL [United Press Association. — CopsBIQHT.I (Received 10.52 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Friday. The police have arrested at Broadmeadows a young German named Schonbeer in connection with the murder of the man Panton, who was found dead in the bush. The prisoner confessed that while he and Panton were camping together on April 18 they quarrelled owing to tho German's refusal to agree to certain suggestions which Panton made. The prisoner says Panton threatened to stab Schonbeer and rushed at him with a knife. Schonbeer then snatthed a tomahawk and struck Panton twice. He then took to the bush and wandered, being lost for some time. He was without food at the time of his arrest, i Schonbeer was wearing the murdered , man's shirt and boots, and he states , that Panton gave them to him. ,
