ELTHAM, Tuesday. A violent thunderstorm occured this morning about 7.30. The lightning struck a house occupied by Mr Reuben White. The kitchen chimney was wrecked and tho bricks were thrown about the placo for some distance. The drawingroom chimney was slightly injured, and the window glass was blown into fragments. The sashes, which were open, escaped iniury. One gableend was split and scorched, and a water downpipe burst. There appears tc have been a narrow escape from wrecking the whole house.
