APPEAL IN THE SAVAGE CASE. (United Press Association). WELLINGTON, Jan. 26. Mr Justice Cooper sat in Banco to-day and heard argument in the case of the Governors of Nelson College (at the instance of some Insurance Companies) v. John Savage and Sons for damage on account of the destructon of Nelson College by fire, it being moved that the verdict given at the trial in Nelson be set aside and a new trial granted, on the grounds that said verdict was against the weight of evidence, and that the Judge misdirected the jury on a material' point. Messrs H. D. Bell and H. F Johnston appeared for the College Gov-' ernors, and Messrs Skerrett and Moore (Nelson) for defendants. Judgment wasreserved.'
