The race was rowed over tho new course, finishing- up at r tho Government Wharf-. WasHbour-ne's crew got well away at tho starts awl kept-weli- in the lead till about half tho distance, when Louissoii's crew came up and wun coniforbafaly, WashbOui'ile -\v,as eiioiigh to-16ge"'IljS slrStdher when half way through the race ; otherwise the race would doubtless- havo been a much closer go. There was su fairly strong tide to contend with. The second heat on Thursday evening proved an easy win for France't crew .over Haniiltonjs. The winners came along with a yood stoady stroke, nnd 'the result of the race was never in doubt. The final heat between France's and Louisson's crews wuß to have been rowed last vvcaing, but owing to tho Strong wind blowing, the racd was pdstpdned till this tiiorning, when Fraflce boat Lguisson . by abdut three lengths.
