Tothe Editor op "The Evening Mail." Sir— Being an eye-witness to the two dogs worrying on a sheep run in Brookstreet in an article referred to by you the dogs in the first place were neither inoffensive nor harmless, inasmuch as they were hunting on theiir own two miles away from home, and trespassing lon a sheep farm, rushing about amongst a flock of ewes and lambs, and thereby i doing considerable damage to hat flock by scattering the lambs in one direction and the ewes in another, by doing so causing mary lambs to be left motherless, and of course, losing their lives. I consider the owner of the flock was quite i'ustified in destroying the dogs. I should tave done the same. As to catching strange dogs.it is a matter of impossibility in most cases.— l am, etc. WITNESS .P.S. —The above is in reference to your local of Monday,
