PROTEST FROM DUNEDIN. DUNEDIX, July 26. At a meeting of employ^ in the local banks the Shops and Ofiices Bill was discussed, and eventually a petition, somewhat on the lines of the "Wellington petition, 1 was adopted. The provision wita regard to payment for overtime i; described as unworkable, and inimical t« the interests of the persons it is infcendec to protect, as the relations of a bank wifct its officials are not those of day labour.
