Conrt ti i > afternoon, in which Joseph Wilson, a butcher, of Karori, was charged witb having assaulted his wife, the evidence was ot so revolting and painfal a nature that Mr Kenny asked all those in the Court who had no actual business there to leave, which they accordingly did. Mr Kenny said it waa difficult to speak about tha cjrcnmstances of this atrocious crime at all temperately, and therefore he could not trust himself to apeak. He sentenced Wilson to six months imprisonment with hard labour, and granted Mrs Wilson a separation order.
