Details regarding the destruction of Spurgeon's Tabernacle show . that the flues in tho kitohen underneath the building set fire to the Tabernacle while dinner was being prepared for the Pastors' Conference, then sitting. The property was insured for half of its value. The communion plate and records were saved. The Rev. Thomas Spurgeon calmly conduoted tho conference until a retreat from the Pastors' Coßega was advisable.
