GLOSING OF CAMPBELL'S SCHOOL.

An event not often recorded in the public press was celebrated yesterday afternoon, namely tbe closing for ever of the old Campbell's Sunday School-the hrst undenominational educational establishment instituted here. The buildine, with the land, etc., has been handed over to the Art Gallery (Bishop Sater's). • This;was accomplished by Act of Parliament prior to the close of the last Selsion, Yesterday the children attending were presented by Mr Thomas l'teld with a Bible, or Testament, or Scripture Card according to their class, with the following tablet attached:-" Presented to 1— by the Committee of the Nelson School Society, as a memento of tbe final closing of the Campbell's Sohool after 55 years as a Sunday • School for the children oi all classes, without the imposition of any sectarian creed, and preparatory to its • becoming (by.
