FOXHILL SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS' ASSOTION. A meeting was held in. tho Wesleyan ' Chapel, Foxhill, on Tuesday evemng for the purpose of discussing a proposal in reference to the formation of a Onion or Association among the Sunday School teachers m the district. A number of teachers representing St, Luke's, Foxhill Wesleyan and Upper Wakefield Wesleyan bunday schools wero present. Mr Hayward was voted to the chair, and litter opening the meeting with prayer lL^ ed f 7% Mr NeU * on *» e *Pla7n the object of the meeting. " Mr Neilson said he believed there had been tor some time among the Sunday school teachers of tho neighbourhood a desire tor an Assocation m which the I teachers of various schools would meeton the ground of common interests, as fellow-workers m God's service, and more especially as workers in Sunday schools. The suggestion which he would lay betore tho meeting was to the effect that those present should form themselves into a "United Sunday School Teachers' Assoemton,' and that the co-operation of tho teachers of. other schools in the neighbouring districts be cordially invited. H such an Association could be found, meetings night be held quarterly, which would afford opportunity for the discussion of methods of work, friendly criticism the reading of papers on matters relating to Sunday school teaching, etc., and these meetings would, hobe■lievod tond to promote an increase" of earnostnoss and enthusaism among the members. In similar associations, of which he had formerly been a member, it had been usual to appoint one of the members as "visitor." The visitor's duties wero to pay a surpriso visit to each school during the quarter, to observe the different methods employed ill each, and, and at the quarterly meeting to give a report as to his opinion on tho working and efficiency of such methods. He (the speaker) would like to see this plan adopted in Foxhill and Wakefield, A different visitor might be elected for each quarter, 'and thus the various schools would all derive benefit from the knowledge and experience of those appointed He would like to hoar whit other teachers thought on the subject, but he was sure that such an Association would be most helpful In promoting a cordial and hearty corporation among the workers ; in neighbouring i.euools. In conclusion, he would say that it hud been suggested that a social picnic be held at Upper Wakefield on Feb. Ist, to which teachers, scholars, and parents and all in any way interested in Sunday school work would be warmly welZo. He would therefore propose That tho teach, era present form themselves into a "United bunday-school Teachers Association," membership of such association to bo school ° f aDy ° ther Sunday The motion was seconded by M* Hayward, who spoke on tho need of mutual help and sympathy between the teachers of different schools, and after discussion and remarks from those present the proposal was carried unanimons- ?' i.i .
