RANZAU.
A largo number of householders assembled in the Hanzau School, Mr T. Walker being voted to tho chair. The report and balance sheet wens read and adopted. Mr F W Smith, the Chairman of tho re-, tiring Committee, gave a brief account of the Inspector's report, noting that the Hope School did exceedingly well, while the Ranzau School did very badly. He also noted the change of teachers at the Hope School, and hoped that Mr Baigent might prove as successful a teacher as Mr M alcolm . A ballot was then taken, the: e being twelve nominations, and the results was as follows : — Thomas Walker, 27 ; Charles Coleman, 2G ; William Coleman, 20 ; George Reay, 18 ; Richard Palmer. 18jHD Paton, 16 ; F W Smith, H; W Eden, 13 ;E G Smith, 11 ; T Coleman, 11 ; T Newport, 10;' C Nippert, 9. The Chairman then declared the first seven duly elected. The new Committee met immediately after, when Mr W Coleman was elected Chairman and Secretary for the ensning year.
