The following are the new School Committee — Messrs North, Shepperd, Dunn, Pollock, Coclirane, Nortliill, and McNeill. MOTUKKA. At the meeting of householders, Mr H. E. Gilbert presided. This Act makes it compulsory for the Committee to take action in cases where parents neglect to send their children to school. Your Committee have only found it necessary to take extreme measures with one individual, who from religious scruples failed to obey the la iv . '■ In conclusion, your Committee consider it a matter for congratulation that the school is under the management of so excellent a headmaster and capable stall' of teachers, and they trust that the good feeling existing between the Committee, teachers, and pupils may long continue." The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following were declared elected as the Committee for the following year : — Messrs Thomas Boyes, William Boyes, H E Gilbert, Richmond Ilnrslhousej C II King, Edmund Parker, and Henry Rumbohl. The Committee met afterwards, and re-elected Mr H B Gilbert as Chairman.
