TOWN SCHOOLS COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Town Schools Committee was held last evening. Present: Mesara Graham (in the chair;, Low, Toplies, Ilarley, Grant. Haddow, Boltoa, and the Rev. J.H. MaoKenzie. Considerable discussion arose concerning the use of books in schools not on the Board's list. It was ultimately resolved that the teachers in charge of schools where 7th Standard children were taught, should be invited to meet the Committee at a special meeting to discuss the matter, auoh meeting to be held on Monday week. It was resolved that the Board be informed that the Committee ware quite that the old Bridge-street sohool building should be removed, and that the Board be asked to place the proceed? to the Committee's Account. It was resolved to ask the Board for a grant to erect a fence round the playground at the Bridget-street sohool. It was resolved that the Board be informed of the unanimity of the meeting of house" holders held on Monday last with regard to theCenttal School question, and that the Beard be asked to report same to the Minister of Eduoation. The chairman stated that the new sohool at Hampden street would be finished and ' ready for use on Monday week.
