Tnere have been few t tnnsaotions on 'Chaage daring the week, ; Big Rivers, Lyell Creeks, and No. 2 Darka [ have been more in demind. Promising 3 accounts are to hand from the new field dis- \ covered by the Globe prospeotora and thiß . should give an impetus to further prospeot- [ ing. The Cissel plant for the treatment of , the Welcoma tailings at Baatmans is ex* , pjcteti to commence operations next week , anl the result is being eagerly waited for, as [ the success of the process will have a most [ important effect upon the prosperity of the district. The following reports have baen , received :— Big River— During the past [ wefk 6 men have been engaged breaking , out sfcoae from the wiDZ3 below No. 2 I level. In No. i level I have been widening the crossout and timbering it ; 1 have aleo been breaking stone from tha east aud west end of the icf. Iv the west end there i3 a large bjdy of cleaa stone of very good quality ; going east tie hanging wall has coma round very fast, but the atone appears to be m iking in the foot wall. This week I have had two men at work covering the creek below the battery in order to give room to stack the tailings. Uuited Alpine: There is nothing fresh to report from the mine for the past week.
