RIWAKA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board, at which all the members were present, was held on Thursday last. The minutes of the previous monthly meeting having been read and adopted, the correspondence was considered, which comprised, Ist, a notification from the County Council re the Board's annual returns, with forms enclosed ; and, 2nd, from the District | Land Registrar, concerning the road through Mr Yorke's property in the Biwaka Valley. Th9 following tenders, were then considered: No. 2 Little Sydney Bridl* Track, for. which Joseph Cooke's, at 7a 3d per chain, was accepted ; the others being A. Inwood, 7s 9d ; William Duncan, 9s 6d ; James Fowler, 9s 9d ; and Thos. S. Woolfe, 10s per chain. No. 3, on the same road — Joseph Grave's tender of 10s 3d per chain was accepted ; the other tenders being T. S. Woolf, 168 ; J. W. Cook, 17s, and William Danoan, 25b per chain. No. 1 (£ mile) in the Biwaka Valley, New Oart Road— H. N. Cook &vCo, t £103 12s, and extra culverts, £1 10a (accepted) : Thos. A. Franklin, £109, extra culverts £1 los ; and Thomas 0. Woolf, 4 £135 13.8^ extra culverts £2. No. 2 (35 chains) on the same road—J. Chapman & Co., £78 106) extra culverts £1 10b (accepted), and Thomas S. Franklin, £91, and' extra culretts^l 15s. * Resolved, That tenders (te be sent in by the next meeting of the Board) be invited for gravelling about 10 chains of the Mill Road, from its junction with the Swamp Road westwards ; and for work on Lodder'a Road, at the Tidal Spur Creek, near the new Saltwater Bridge. Resolved, That in future the Board shall meet on the evening of the first Wednesday in every month, instead of the first Thursday as at present. Accounts were passed for payment to the amount of £51 Is 6d.
