A cqjmi£sroNDENT sends the following as a cure for diptheria and oroup:— Pour equal parts o£ turpentine and liquid tar in an iron pan or cup and set the mixture on fire. A dense sraoko arises, which fills the sick room. The patient immediately seems to experienco relief, the choking and rattling stops, the patient falls into a gentle sleep, and seems to inhale the smoke with pleasure. The fibrous membrane soon detaches itself, and the patient ooughe up mirobisides, These when oaught in a glass may be seen to d ssolve in the smoke. In tha course of three days afterwards the patient entirely recovers.
