The Wreck of the Cheviot.
Qoeenscliffe, October 20.
Further particulars regarding the wreck of the Cheviot are to hand. It appears that the vessel lost her propeller when passing through the Rip last night, and drifted on the rooks, whioh she struck with great force. The crash broke her in two, all the passengers and crew on the fore part of the vessel being drowned. Only the saloon passengers, oaptain, and chief cook, third engineer, land two firemen were rescued.

Further particulars regarding the wreck of the s.s. Cheviot state that the Captain behaved splendidly, and that the passengers and crew showed great coolneßs. Eight bodies have been recovered from the wreck. The latest accounts give the number of saved at twenty, whilst thirty-nine are said to have been drowned.
