The following additional scratchings for the Melbourne Cup have been posted : — Bedouin, Bangle, Mozart, and Ringmaster.
The Wairapapa, which left for the Bluff yesterday afternoon, was compelled, owing to the severity of the weather, to anohor at the Heads for the night.
Hobabt, October 20,
Shaw Saville Albion Company's steamer Coptic arrived from England this morning en route for New Zealand.
Melboobne, Ootober 20.
The following additional scratchings for the Melbourne Cup have been posted : — Sextant and Nelson. Little business is doing on the Cup, the betting being 10 to 1 Australian Peer, 18 to 1 Meteor.
Hobart, October 21.
The steamship Coptic left at noon to-day for New Zealand. Beyond landing passengers she had no communication with the shore.
Earl and Countess Carnarvon during their stay in Tasmania will be the guests of the Governor.
