Sclanders, on the ground of misdirection by the judge. Rule granted. Mr Fell moved for a new trial in Wymond v. National Insurance Company, on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence. Rule refused Smith's Combination Troupe. — It will be seen by advertisement that this clever company, under the direc* tion of " Airee," the trapezUt, Will appear at the Masonic Hall to-morrow evening. One performance only will be given, as the company will etart for the £ouih by the'Pboebe on the following day. Childrbn's Picnic. — A picbio was given yesterday to the children of St. Mary's schools, who, to the number of 100, left town in the morning in a long Btriog of vehicles for Stafford Place, Waimea West, where thay thoioughly enjoyed themselves.
