Christ Church. — We are requested to state that the Rev. G. Watkins, who has lately arrived from Euyland and is «l>out to take Mr. Harvey's place on the West Coast, will preach at Christ Church to-morrow morning. Accident. — We regret to hear that a serious acehhnt occurred at Motueka to Miss Davis, daughter of Mr. H. Davis of Nelson, on Thursday last.. The horse ou which she was riding toi>k fright at some 6l>jeet in the road, and running away wilh her threw her to the ground with great force, inflicting a severe wound in her face. Musical and Dramatic Entertain- •/ ment.— Mr. Leech gave his entertainment at- the, Oddfellows' Hall, last night, to a very good audience. It would be scarcely

fair to criticise too keenly the acting of one who appeared for the first time last evening in this description of entertainment, but we may 6ay that Mr. Leech " brought down the House " several times, and that some capital hits were made which took well with his audience. If we might be allowed to make a suggestion, we would recommend that Mr. Leech's next entertainment should be curtailed of a little of the election element ; he made some good hits which were delivered quite impartially, each caudidate coming in for his share, but there was so much of it that it became wearisome. At the termination of the entertainment, Mr. Leech came forward aud trusted that any shortcomings might be overlooked, that things had uot gone quite so smoothly as he had wished, but he hoped that on another occasion the experience he had gained would enable him to give his entertainment with greater satisfaction to himself.
