Resident Magistrate's Court. — R. K. Turner for cattle trespass was fiued ss. aud costs, and Edward Smith for being drunk and discrlerly, was fined 20s. and costs. Catherine Parmenter was released from gaol in entering into recognizances to keep the peace for six months. The Fitzherbert Vote. — As an amendment to Mr. Vogel's resolution that the sum of £3,000 be paid to the Agent, on account of services rendered in connection with the consolidation ofthe loans of the Colony, Mr. Kelly moved that the item be reduced to £2,000, upon which the the Committee divided with following result; — Ayes, Mr. Main, Major Brown, Mr. Kelly ; Noes, Messrs Ball, Dillou Bell, Bradshaw, Bunny, Burns, Collins, Creigton, Curtis, Diguan, Edwards, Eyes, Farnell, Featberston, Hall, W. H. Harrison, Heahpy, Kelly, M'Lean, O'Neil, O'Rorke, Potts, Richmond, Stevens, Swan, Taylor, Wells, Wood, H. S. Harrison, and Stafford. Supreme Court, Hokitika. — At the crminal sittings of the Supreme Court at Hokitika on Tuesday last, George Winter, late County Treasurer, pleaded guilty to a ( charge of embezzlement, and was sentenced to three years penal servitude. Everard Whiting Jones, late Curator of Intestate Estates, was charged with embezzlement, but pleaded a contra account against the Government, and was discharged.
