DEPARTURE OF TE KOOTI.
The natives arrested at Ngaruawahia on Sunday turn out to be King natives, who came down from Tokangamutu and procured the arms and ammunition from various parties in Auckland and the suburbs. The following telegram is marked by the telegraphist as having been presented (place not stated) for transmission to Auckland at 3*15 p.m., and finished at 6*lo p.m. In other \7ords, it was two.hbursahd fiftyfive minutes lying at the telegraph offices. No clue is given as to theplace where the telegram was presented, and the telegram bears other marks of carelessness in. the,.. transcription: — - **/ ; '" .' the following telegram yesterday from our correspondent at Alexandra: — ' Hamilton, 27th July, 9 a.m. Te Kooti left Te Kuiti on Sunday. • He will recruit at Kareo, Maugawanga, and Mokau, in order to endeavor to raise a force of 600 men. If successful, he will return, depose the King, enforce his religion, and attack Waikato, When Te Kooti left, the King's forces fired a derisive volley. Te Kooti burned the King's house. Rewi accompanied him. . One hundred Ngatimaniapotos followed yesterday to bring Rewi back. Rewi is supposed to be mad. It has been suggested to us that Rewi has merely accompanied Te Kooti in order to see him safe out of the Waikato, but we confess we attach little importance to such a view of the matter. It would seem from Rewi's conduct throughout that he is desirous of stirring up strife between Te Kooti and the Waikato King party.
