TE KOOTI AT MQKAU.

(From the Southern Cross, July 29.) The Latest intelligence respecting the movumeuts of the arch-rebel Te Kooil is , contained iv a telegram received last evening from the Waikato, and which was to the effect that Te Kooti had goao on to Mokuu. with 300 men. With respect to the recent seizure of arm?, &c, at Ngaruawahia, we have received the following letter from our own correspondent : — Hamilton, 27th July. Oa Sunday evening it was reported that three natives had been taken afe Ngaruawahia having a- large quantity of arms and ammunition, supposed to be en route for Te Kooti. On Monday the greatest excitement prevailed^both here and at Ngaruawahia, as to what should <be done to the natives. Mr* Searancke being at Alexandra, several . suggested ; a short shrift and and a long rope as their desert, which I am informed would have actually been their fata but for the timely interference of Captain Hay. The natives belong to the King party, and consist of three men and a woman. In their possession were found four double-barrel guns, ten boxes percussion caps, and 24 pounds of powder ; or sufficient for 7680 charges. They state they purchased 51b. powder at or near Otabuhu for £2 10s.; and 1 one gun for £11, at Onehunga ; also, two double-barrel guns for £5 each, and ten boxes of caps for ss. each, and 101 b. powder ; at Remuera, a double-barrel gun for £10, and 91b. powder. They have given the description of the parties from whom they purchased, but their statement is not relied on. G-reat hopes are entertained that the wretches who supplied them will be found out, and meet the fate in reality that was intended for the natives at Ngaruawnhia. They also state that they were living in Auckland and its neighborhood for the past month. - - Great credit is duo to Hie puntman (Sylvester Maguire), the capture being effected through his information. Mr, Searancko arrived last evening Tfrom Alexandra. The natives will be brought up to-day for examination, and the result; anxiously looked for. Te Kooti is still in the neighborhood awaitiug ins! ructions from his god as to what future course he will pursue. Instructions have been issued to the militia to search all the swags of suspicious Maoris, several having lately passed through this place heavily loaded, on a visit to his Maori Majesty.
