Motion agreed to. , , : HOSPITAL. On the motion of Mr. Donne, the Council resolved itself into Committee to consider and * report upon paragraph No. 9 of his Honor the - ' Superintendent's speeeh, of April 27, 1869. Mr. Gibbs in the chair. Mr. Donne moved, That it is desirable to : remove as early as possible th*> patients from the . old hospital to the new buildinir, such portion '---only to be occupied as would be necessary for the ; =- accom modai ion of the patients, the house surgeon, a- and. the requisite staff of attendants. - .Mr, Barnicoat, as one of the hospital Com- - inittee/' would support the resolution. He did not think the expense - wou'd be increased, and besides the present ..ibuilding was in a most dangerous state of decay. "He wished it to be clearly understood that he did not impute any blame tojhe Government for not having removed the patients The Provincial Secretary was surprised to hear of the building being in a state of decay, that was the first time he had heard it, and if „ such -were the case, the Government would not _ave the slightest hesitation in removing the patients at once. Resolution agreed to. The Council then resumed, and the resolution was reported without amendment. PETITION OF THOMAS CARTER.
