Tliere are five criminal cases set down for trial, namely, Thomas Brown, felony ; Samuel Morrison, larceny ; Robert Chapniau, embezzlement ; Rodger Pope, maliciously cutting and wounding ; John Heberley, larceny. The only Civil case on the list is that of Mackay and Morse, being an action on agreement for wage, and services rendered, wherein the damages are laid at £500. Off to the Eaces. — The town has since 9.30 this morning presented a most dreary and descried appearauce, everyone who could possibly obtain a holiday and the means of conveyance, having cleared out for Wakefield, the great centre of attraction. Every species of cart, carriage, or cab that would bear the strain of oue, two, four, or six horses, as the case might be, was chartered for the occasion, and we have no doubt that their occupants are thoroughly enjoying themselves. We shall publish to-morrow a full report of the day's racing. rr n ' ■.
