' The printing report .was brought up by the lion. Mr. Johnston. It recommended that the tender of Messrs. Bull and M'Kenzie, for reporting and printing 72 columns weekly, at ,£25 per page, octavo, should be accepted. . ' ...... The hon. C. Eussell stated that it was not the intention of the Government to introduce an ordinance to abolish the " Sale of Spirits Ordinance, 1857." On the motion of the hon. Mr. Menzies, it was agreed that the committee appointed to consider all bills affecting all waste lands of the Crown, be permitted to frame a joint- report with any similar committee. ■ The Building and Land Societies Bill was read a third time and passed, after the following amendment had been adopted : — That every society may, by its rules, provide that the trustees thereof may, with funds of and on behalf of the society, purchase and hold land, with an I without a house, and erect thereon a .house or offices for the business of the society,-and may, on the termination of the society, sell and execute a conveyance or conveyances of the said house to any purchaser or purchasers thereof, and any such trustees so authorized shall be empowered accordingly. The Legislative Council Limitation Bill, and the Poison Limitation Prevention Bill, were read a second time. -The Oyster Eisheries Bill was referred to a Select Committee.
