Lord Ashley arrived in harbor this morning from the North via Cook Strait. The purser has favored us with tlie following report : — Left Auckland at 2-30 p.m.. on the 12ili instant. Had thick and heavy weather to Tauranga,' arriving -there at 730 a.m. on the 13th. Sailed same day at 4 p.m. for Napier. On the following day, • when off the East Capo, encountered a very heavy gale from the southward, with high sea ; ' arrived at Napier on the loth, at 7 a.m., but could not land cargo oh account of the heavy swell in the bay. Left same day at 1 p.m., with fine weather down to Wellington, arriving on the 16th, at 1230 p.m. • Sailed for Nelson at 5.30 p.m. on the 17th ; had fine weather and ligiit breeze through the Strait, and arrived at the outer anchorage at 830 a.m.
