Hartley Iverosine Shale. —A quantity of this shale was sent to England last year for the purpose of having ks qualities tested by the aid of the most perfect appliances. A report has since been received from Mr. C. Humphrey, of St. David's works, Saltney, where it was tested, one of the largest mineral oil works in Great Britain. Mr. Humphrey states that it is, without exception, the richest oil mineral he has seen, yielding over 150 gallons of crude oil to the ton. Specific gravity '850. The produce of a ton of mineral being 150 gallons, the yield of refined products will be — Gallons.
