ADELAIDE.

Adelaide, April 30. The Congregational Chapel at Port Adelaide has been totally destroyed by fire. The Lord Lyndhurst, with 1,500 tons of copper ore, from Wallaroo to Swansea, has been stranded on Wasbutty Point, in Moonta Bay. The snip is in a very dangerous position, as the weather is threatening. The cargo is insured for £16,000 in Adelaide offices. Highly fjivorablo news received from the Wkeal Hughes mine, York's Peninsula. Kvc'iit rise consequently in the price of sli ares. Wheat, 6s 6d • flour, £15 10s to £16 10s. The state of matters in the north of South Australia seems to hare considerably improved of late. A letter, written by a settler near Mount Margaret, gives the following account of affairs : — " The food from Mount Deception, north, is splendid. In many places the country presents more the appearauce of an immense wheat-field than anything else. On my arrival here Mr. showed me grass which he himself picked 4ft. 6in. long. He also showed me a variety of grasses from two to three feet long. The stock are of course, all fat — working horses and bullocks ; the latter are quite fit for any market. A person from a station near here has just started down with sheep from the run, as I believe the owner lias found it costs more to keep them here than they are worth. I met a flock of 2,000 yesterday-mixed sheep, ewes, lambs, and wethers. They are in firstrate condition, and the lambs, last year's, are nearly as big as their mothers.
