The Nelson Evening Mail. THURSDAY, MARCH 29, 1866.
During the past week 13 vessels of an aggregate burthen of 1,965 tons have entered inwards through the Customs, bringing to this place 101 passengers, besides 182 en route for other ports. These vessels consist of seven steamers of 1,831 tons, £«id six sailing craft of 134 tons ; of the sailing vessels two were from Havelock and four from the settlements around the bay. Besides general merchandise, we have imported by these vessels 1,200 bushels of wheat from the Wairau, 60,000 feet of timber from Havelock, 17,848 ozs. of gold from West Coast, and 20 tons limstone from the Tata Islands. The entries outwards duriug the same period have been 15 of a tonnage of 2,334, and talcing 45 passengers. Of these 8 were steam vessels of 1,867 tons, and seven were sailing craft of 467 tons ; of the sailing craft one was for Newcastle, one to I-lobart Town,, one for Havelock, one for the Wairau, and three for the bay settlements. The exports of Nelson produce during the week has consisted of 99 sacks potatoes, 204 bushels apples, 57 kegs butter, 63 bags bran, 27 bales chaff, 36 casks ale, 10 bags lime, 5 casks biscuits, also, 5 bullocks and 100 sheep. The export of gold has been 19,100 ozs.
