WEST EYRETON

SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The School Committee met on Tuesday night. There were present Messrs It. W. Thompson (chairman), J. McLauchlan, W. S. Busch, L. Hide, J. Lucas, and A. It, Chambers (headmaster). It was announced that the vote taken to decide the place for the school picnic was overwhelmingly in favour of Waikuku Beach. Arrangements were set in train to make this function the usual success. It will be held on Friday, December 17. It was also decided to entertain the children to a party in the West Eyreton Hall on Tuesday, December 21. It is hoped to arrange for a visit from Father Christmas on that occasion. The teachers will organise a programme of games and competitions for the evening.
