ANNIVERSARY SERVICES HELD
Sunday school anniversary services Avere held at the Rangiora Methodist Church on Sunday, the Rev. H. Ryan being the preacher. There Avere largo congregations at all three services, a feature of Avhich Avas. the singing of the children, under the direction of Mr F. A. Lane. Sunday school scholars Avere assisted by members of the Bible classes. At the afternoon service, a chorus Avas sung by the infant department. Prizes Avon during the year were presented by Mrs Ryan in the afternoon. FolloAving is the prize-list: F. Robinson Memorial, EAvart LeAvis (intermediate grade), Rex May (junior grade); Mr L. J. Thorneycroft’s special for highest marks, intermediate girls, Rita Turner; Mr E. James’s class, Ewart Lewis 1, Allan James 2; Miss E. Hamilton’s class, Rita Turner 1, Audrey Deh#S 2; Mr C. Ayers’s class, Rex May 1, Iven James 2; Mr H. Dodge’s class, Greig Withers 1, Wanviek With2. / The children Avere entertained to tea yesterday, and the anniversary concert Avas held last evening. As Avell as a number of musical and elocutionary items by the children, vocal solos Avere given by Miss E. Hamilton and Mr C. Ayers. The superintendent (Mr J. N. LeAvis) presided, and the annual report of the school was read by the secretary (Mr D. Ruston). A satisfactory position Avas shoAVii in the balance-sheet. The Rev. D. Ryan congratulated the school on the success of the year’s work.
