Final Drama Meeting
CLUB TO VISIT WOODEND . AND CLARKVILLE
The final meeting of the Southbrook Drama Club was held on Monday, with Mrs A. J. Smith presiding. The secretary reported a satisfactory credit balance from the recent social evening. An invitation to produce two plays at Clarkville on December 3, and another from the R.S.A. to present two plays at Woodend early in December were accepted.
It was decided that the Club join the British Drama Club. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr L. Wise for his presentation of a mantelpiece and to Messrs R. Doggett and C. Atkinson for their assistance at the recent social. It was decided to hold a picnic for members and friends at Woodend Beach on December 5, leaving at 9.30 a.m. The approximate date for commencement of classes next year was fixed for May. Before closing the meeting, the president thanked all members for their support. ST JOHN AMBULANCE SOCIAL
The third St. John social, held in the Coronation Hall on Saturday, proved very popular with both dancers and card players. Music for the dancing was played by Geo. Holland's Orchestra. Mr F. E. Martyn was M.C.
Winners of the card tournaments were Mesdames C. O'Neill junr. (1), B. Dench and S. Watkins (2 equal), Messrs H. Nottingham (1), R. English (2).
