Successful Throughout HIGH STANDARD OF ENTRIES The Oxford A. and P. Association Avas faA'oured Avith fine weather for its annual shoAv yesterday. There Avas a large attendance of the public, and visitors Avere present from many parts. The gate takings Avere considerably in excess of last year’s. The shoAv officials, Avith Mr Lancelot Watson as hon. secretary, Avorked Avith zeal to make this year’s venture a success. General satisfaction Avas expressed at the smooth running and efficiency Avith Avhich the shoAv Avas carried out. The lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes, M.P., Avas an interested spectator, and an apology for Avas' received from the Hon. D. Buddo, M.L.C. Entries Avere up to the usual standard—a falling off being noticeable in the horse and cattle sections only. In the sheep sections competition Avas keen and the quality decidedly good, particularly in flock and purebred exhibits. The light horse section Avas smaller than usual, but the quality of the entries Avas good. Cattle entries Avere Aveak. An exhibition of roots Avas particularly good, there being over 100 entries of potatoes alone, and the sample Avas outstanding. The quality Avas excellent in each entry, and judging in this class Avas difficult. Good entries Avere received for the avool fleece section, and the exhibits Avere particularly good. In the grain and seed classes the entries Avere up to the usual high standard. Entries in the floAver section Avere Aveaker than usual, but some excellent blooms Avere displayed, and in most cases a high standard Avas maintained. A judging competition for members, of the Young Farmers’ Clubs Avas keenly contested. The competition comprised three sections—Clydesdale horse, Corriedale eAve, and Friesian coav. There Avere over 20 entries in each class. During the afternoon Mr D. J. Sidey, of Lincoln Agricultural College, the judge of the flock sheep section, gave a demonstration Avhich proved of unusual interest to farmers.
