More Sick Children On Migrant Vessel

MELBOURNE, Wed (12.15 p.m.).— When the migrant ship Castel Bianco reached Melbourne from Naples, 14 children were rushed to hospital. Ten were suffering from measles and four from complications after measles. Passengers said that epidemics of measles, gastro-enteritis and whooping cough swept through 201 children under three years old during the voyage. Two children died between Aden and Fremantle, one from gastro-enter • itis and the other 'rom bronchial pneu monia.

At Fremantle lrf people, comprising five children and their families, were put off the ship and the children taken to hospital. An International Refugee Organisa tion doctor who travelled aboard the ship said that when they embarked at Naples nearly all the children were badly undernourished.
