AUCKLAND. Thu. (Sp.)—The 67th annual assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand and the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society was officially opened at the Baptist Tabernacle

last night. Addresses of welcome were given by the deputy-Mayor (Mr J. L.

Coaklcv) the Rev J. Douglas Smith, president of the Auckland branch of the National Council of Churches, and Mr a. T. Dow, secretary of the Auckland Assembly committee.
