Australian Rover Scouts Here On Tour

Two Australian Rover Scouts. Keith Gilbert and George Fox, who left their homes in Brisbane on Boxing Day on a hitch-hiking tour of New Zealand, arrived in Whangarei on Tuesday night. Before leaving Australia, they attended the Australian Scout Jamboree, later working their way through Tasmania, where they spent eight months, five working as cooks in a hotel. Arriving in Wellington about two months ago. the boys travelled to New Plymouth, where they w’orked in a timber mill, and then made their way northward.

Since being in Whangarei, the scouts have made contact with the Te Arahi Rover Crew, which is endeavouring to find work for them, as the boys want to sjiend about two months here before continuing their travels.
