Onerahi Bus Service Criticised

An unsatisfactory state in the transport facilities from Onerahi .to Whangarei was alleged by Mr L Robertson, at a meeting of the Trades Council in Whangarei last night. He said that quite often workers were unable to find transport by 8 a.m.

Mr Boreham said the full facts should be ascertained before any action was taken. Mr C. Homer suggested that an alteration in the timetable might meet the position. He advised the council to approach the management of the Northern Motor Bus Co Ltd., to obtain the true facts. Mr Boreham said that unless a complaint were made by a number of people, and the facts could be substantiated the council should not take any action. He was sure that if the complain: was justified an extra bus would bt provided by the company. It was decided that a full investigation be made before any further action was taken.
