Forced To Change Jobs
LONDON, Wed. (1 p.m.) Sir Stafford Cripps warned the nation's 23,000,000 workers today that some of them must be prepared to switch jobs. "No one can now be guaranteed work in his own job, or even in his own trade,” he said.
In glum silence the crowded House heard him say: “The nation cannot afford to /go on using so much of its resources for home investment. “To insist on rigid maintenance of the present pattern of employment would be to destroy all hope of full employment.”
