Denounced

The official Prague radio tonight denounced the election of Yugoslavia to the council, as the result of a “provocation engineered by the United States.”

The radio said that, by right, Czechoslovakia, and not Yugoslavia, should have won the seal.

After the election the spokesman for the British delegation said Britain voted for Czechoslovakia on both ballots.

It is understood that four other Commonwealtn votes were cast for Czechoslovakia.

The General Assembly today elected to the Economic and Social Council,. Mexico. Persia, Pakistan, Canada and Czechoslovakia.

They will replace Byelo-Russia, Lebanon, New Zealand, Turkey and Venezuela for three-year terms beginning on Jaunary 1, 1950.
