PASTOR ON MURDER CHARGE

NEW YORK! Mon.— Shortly after after he preached a sermon on faith, hope, and love, a negro clergyman was arrested tonight/' and charged with murder. He is the Rev. Beecher Jackson, aged 36, pastor of a Newark (New Jersey) Presbyterian Church. The police said that Jaekspn admitted he killed Earl Welts, a 70-year-old sexton, with an icepick.
