Strikes May Delay Big Trade Shows
LONDON, Mon., (11 p.m.).— Preparations for two of London’s biggest trade shows—the international motor show at Earl’s Court, London, and radio exhibition at Olympia, Kensington—are being hampered by strikes. Three thousand painters, carpenters and labourers, striking for a wage increase from 2/11 id to 3/6d an hour, were joined today by 300 electricians. Exhibitors have taken their own workmen to try and get their stands finished for the opening of both shows on Wednesday, but the Radio Industry Council executive has warned them to use only trade union labour.
